Spring has finally sprung

Shoreline Cycling Club members have been out in full force over the past ten days or so as the trails have dried out. The Ludington School Forest trails are as good as they get. Timber Creek to and including the Outer Loop at Big M have been ridden. And some parts south of Timber Creek towards 56th have been cleaned. Thanks to all members and riders who’ve jumped in to clean up after a long snowy winter. After riding the Outer Loop last night there is a big downed beech tree on the Bullwacker Downhill and an old dead tree over the trail in the northwest corner towards Road Monkey.

We cut and moved a tree from the trail that was at the top of the NCT climb after crossing the Little Manistee so that one is gone.

A note about spring riding. Be sure to give the trails some time to dry out after rains. They dry fast with our sandy soils here in West Michigan but riding muddy and wet trails can leave lasting tire tracks.
