Another trip, closer to home, that we have figured out pretty well, is a run up to Sault Ste. Marie, Canada. We take our regular Wednesday night ride, somewhere north, farther than we usually go, and then keep going north across the border. The first time we went we stayed at Searchmont, and kept driving back to the Soo, about 45 minutes for dinner, the next trip we just rented some cabins outside of town a little bit and did one or two rides at Searchmont, and a bunch at a park that was a mile away from the cabins. The park is mostly a ski area, but bikers have cut single track here and there joining separate ski trails. It’s more technical and rocky than Michigan biking, and close to home.
